The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) was honoured with the Ethereum Hong Kong Core Contribution Award (以太坊香港核心貢獻獎) at the Hong Kong Digital Asset Forum, held on 1 November 2026, in recognition of its contributions to blockchain research, innovation, and the development of Hong Kong’s Ethereum ecosystem.
The recognition highlights PolyU’s continued efforts in advancing blockchain technologies, fostering industry-academia collaboration, and supporting talent development in the Web3 sector.
Through its Research Centre for Blockchain Technology (RCBT), PolyU actively promotes interdisciplinary research and practical applications in cryptography, blockchain security, privacy-enhancing technologies, and decentralised systems. In February 2026, RCBT also established a strategic collaboration with the Ethereum Foundation to further strengthen blockchain research, education, and talent development.
RCBT extends its sincere appreciation to Ethereum Hong Kong Hub, BlockUnion, and SNZ for this recognition. The Centre remains committed to bridging academic research and industry applications, strengthening collaboration with the global blockchain community, and contributing to Hong Kong’s development as an international hub for blockchain and Web3 innovation.
