The Research Centre for Blockchain Technology (RCBT) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University was delighted to organise the Industry Master Class: AI-Powered Risk & Compliance in Web3 on 19 May 2026 at PolyU, in collaboration with Monash University’s FinTech Lab and Monash AI Institute, with the Department of Computing at PolyU as co-organiser.
The event brought together a full house of participants from academia, industry, and the Web3 community for an afternoon of insightful discussions on AI-powered approaches to risk management, AML compliance, fraud detection, and trust-building in Web3.
RCBT would like to express its sincere appreciation to our hosts and speakers, Prof. Man Ho Allen Au, Prof. Joseph Liu, Prof. Andreas Deppeler, Prof. John Yuen, Dr. Teresa Wang, and Dr. Xiangmeng Wang, for sharing their expertise across a wide range of topics, from blockchain, cryptocurrencies, and privacy technologies to crypto AML challenges, AI-powered compliance techniques, and graph learning approaches for fraud detection.
We would also like to thank our supporting organisations, Cyberport, Hong Kong Ethereum Hub, SNZ Holding, and Techub News, for their valuable support in making this event possible.
The master class concluded with a lively networking session, where participants continued the discussion and exchanged views on future opportunities in AI, Web3, and digital asset compliance.
RCBT looks forward to continuing to build bridges between academic research and industry practice, and to supporting the development of a more secure, compliant, and trustworthy Web3 ecosystem.
